Brina Wiliams, Age 22 Pronouns: They/Them
Brina has a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Social Work and is an alum of the Seita Scholars program at Western Michigan University. They also earned an Associate’s degree from Lansing Community College and partook in their Fostering Stars program. Brina has been a partner of a variety of programs for the last 7 years, including the Continuous Quality Improvement Focus Group for Foster Care in Ingham County, the Board of Directors for the Association of Children’s Mental Health, Michigan’s Statewide YAB for foster care, the Leadership Corp. for the National Foster Youth Institute MI Chapter, FSM Ambassadors, and they are the current President of Ingham County’s Michigan Youth Opportunities Initiative. Brina is committed to using their lived experience to change the systems and perceptions of foster care, mental health, LGBTTQIA2S+, and many others.
